Objectivism:
The Foundations of a Rational Philosophy

🔭

Metaphysics

« What is reality? »

Reality exists independently of any consciousness. Facts are facts, regardless of anyone’s feelings, wishes, hopes, or fears.

Objectivism asserts the primacy of existence: the world is what it is, and it is knowable.

« Existence exists » is the axiom at the root of all knowledge. It means that reality is objective, absolute, and not subject to human manipulation through thought or belief.

🧠

Epistemology

« How do we know? »

Reason is man’s only means of acquiring knowledge.

Objectivism rejects faith, revelation, and emotionalism as valid epistemological tools. Logic is the method of non-contradictory identification of reality.

Knowledge must be grounded in sensory evidence and validated by logic. Man must think in order to live.

🧭

Ethics

« What should I do? »

The moral purpose of your life is the achievement of your own happiness.

Objectivism advocates rational self-interest: valuing your own life and pursuing your goals with integrity, independence, and productivity.

This is the ethics of man qua man : a rational being who lives for his own sake, not as a means to the ends of others.

Virtue is not sacrifice, but rationality. Your life belongs to you, and the good is that which sustains and fulfills it.

🏛️

Politics

« What kind of society? »

Objectivism defends laissez-faire capitalism as the only social system that recognizes individual rights.

The proper role of government is to protect those rights — not to redistribute wealth or regulate lives.

Freedom means the absence of physical coercion. Capitalism is the political expression of a moral society.

🎨

Aesthetics

« What is the role of art? »

Art is a selective recreation of reality according to an artist’s fundamental values. It projects what is possible and important, offering spiritual fuel by concretizing ideals.

Romantic realism — heroic men in purposeful action — reflects the Objectivist vision of man and life.
